Personal Prowess

My greatest strength is and always will be writing. As long as I can remember, I have always been writing stories — fantasies that include wings and magic, cringe-y cheesy teenage romance, and some dystopian alternate future among others.

It started when I was 10 years old, me and my friends would share a notebook and write stories about our favorite characters, and the notebooks would fill to another notebook, and to our diaries and then to our own gadgets. And before I knew it, we were writing our own separate stories.

The fact that we liked to read books back then definitely helped, we explored that field, experimented, and thrived. And from fan fiction — I now moved into a more practical expertise involving my pen: writing scripts, one-act plays, and short films.

The act of storytelling always fascinated me, ever since my mother would read me bed time stories when I was a kid — I’ve looked at other storytelling mediums in creative ways, from art forms, books, and especially films.

However, with strengths come weaknesses — and even though I consider writing as my greatest skill, technical writing eludes me. I’m an idealist, a perfectionist that try to see the good in the little things out of life, a hyper-fixating introvert, with no notable oral communication skills nor the confidence to brave the other end of the camera and broadcast myself to the world. This is why when I inevitably have my exposure training, I hope to instill some of what I learn and grow outside my comfort zone a little bit more, and add that to my arsenal of skills set in the future.
